FTLL Golf Tournament Rules

This is a TEAM SCRAMBLE competition. Each team member hits a tee shot.  The best ball of the four tee shots is selected for further play.  Each team member then hits a second shot (assuming no hole-in-one) from where the selected tee shot came to rest. The best shot is again selected. This continues until the ball is in the hole.

1.      Per the 18 holes, 2 drives and 2 second shots MUST be used from each team member. There is a drive on every hole, but there are NO second shots on par 3 holes. Similarly, there is only one second shot on a par 5 hole which is generally NOT your approach shot to the green.

2.      The ball may be PLACED for 2nd, 3rd, etc. shots within 1 club length of where the actual shot came to rest and no closer to the hole.

3.      For teams with only 3 people, they still get 4 shots, but they must rotate which person gets the extra shot on each hole.

4.      If a selected ball lies in the rough, all "next" shots must be played from the rough.

5.      If a selected ball is not on the green, all "next" shots must be played from off the green.

6.      If a selected ball lies in a sand trap, all "next" shots must be played from the sand trap.

7.      The person whose ball will be used on the green must putt first.

8.      The ball is in play until it hits the bottom of the cup (NO gimmies!!!).

9.      A maximum score of 1 over par applies for each hole. If you're score is par and you're not in the cup, pick it up and go to the next hole.

10.  All rules of golf apply (penalties, etc.)

11.  A DRIVE must come to rest in the fairway to be considered for the Longest Drive competition.

12.  A DRIVE must come to rest on the putting surface to be considered for the Closest to the Pin.
