2012 Junior League Eastern Regional Tournament

The Freehold Twp. Little League is honored to host the Junior League Eastern Regional Tournament for it's 8^th straight year. State Champions from Maine to Maryland will participate in the double elimination tournament with the dream of earning a berth to the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.

The tournament will kick-off with a Champion Recognition Banquet for the teams & guests on Friday, August 3 at 6:00 PM. The opening ceremony & parade of teams will be held on Saturday, August 4 at 9 AM. The games will be held daily at Michael J. Tighe Park (formerly Liberty Oak Park) Field #7 in Freehold, NJ on Saturday thru Monday: 10 AM, 1 PM, 4 PM & 7 PM; Tuesday: 1 PM, 4 PM & 7 PM; Wednesday: 4 PM & 7 PM; & Thursday: 11 AM & 2 PM (if necessary).

Teams will receive information packets regarding the tournament, official hotels (room blocks & discounted rates), and the banquet. Parents are encouraged to contact their team representative to obtain information on the discounted room blocks & the banquet.

2012 State Champions & Host

Connecticut: Tolland LL, Tolland CT (14-2)

After winning 8 straight games in District play, Tolland LL overcame a first game loss in Sections and a split in States leading up to the final game. They overcame 5-0 & 8-6 deficits in the championship game scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to secure a 9-8 win and the State Title. The Connecticut State Champs will play their first game against the Maryland State Champs on August 4 at 4 PM. 

Delaware:  Millford LL, Milford DE (6-0)

Millford LL went undefeated in tournament play outscoring their opponents 70-22 to capture the State Title and to earn their first trip to the Regional's. The Delaware State Champs will play in the tournament opener vs. the Pennsylvania State Champs on August 4 at 10 AM.

Maine: Bangor East/West LL, Bangor ME (8-1)

Bangor East/West LL will be making it's 7th consecutive visit to the Regional's and 8th visit since 2001. After losing the second game in the District Tournament they reeled off five wins coming back through the loser's bracket to win the District title. They then went 2-0 to capture the State title. The Maine State Champs will play their first game against the New York State Champs on August 4 in the nightcap at 7 PM.

Maryland: Chesapeake City LL, Chesapeake City MD (8-1)

Chesapeake City LL will make it's first visit to the Eastern Regional Tournament. After winning their first 7 tournament games they lost the State Final but bounced back to win the championship game to capture the State Title. The Maryland State Champs will play their first game against the Connecticut State Champs on August 4 at 4 PM.

Massachusetts: Oxford LL, Oxford MA (10-0)

This will be Oxford LL's first visit to the Regional's and they did it in style going unfeated in tournament play. Be sure to look for the team colored orange & black van displaying their names & #'s. The Massachusetts State Champs will play the winner of the Rhode Island / NJ District 19 Host Champs at 4 PM on August 5.

New Jersey: Howell South LL, Howell NJ  (10-1)

Howell South LL went undefeated in Disrict play & bounced back after a loss in Sections. They captured the NJ State Title going undefeated in the State Tournament and outscored their opponents 106-38 along the way. The New Jersey State Champs will play the winner of the Pennsylvania / Delaware State Champs in the nightcap at 7 PM on August 5.

NJ District 19 Host:  Freehold Twp. LL, Freehold NJ (4-1)

Freehold Twp. LL makes it's fifth consecutive appearance in the Regional's. After winning their first 3 district games, they lost a tough game to Tinton Falls but battled back in the final game to capture the District Title. The NJ District 19 Champions will play the Rhode Island State Champs from Johnston LL at 1 PM on August 4.

New York: Franklin Square LL , Franklin Square NY (10-0)

After winning 4 straight games in the State tournament, Franklin Square LL captured the first ever New York State Championship in their leagues history The New York State Champs will play Maine State Champs in the nightcap at 7 PM on August 4.

Pennsylvania: Dunbar LL, Dunbar PA (10-0)

This is Dunbar LL's first visit to the Regional's and they did it in style by going undefeated in tournament play. The Pennsylvania State Champs will play the Delaware State Champs in the tournament opener on August 4 at 10 AM.

Rhode Island: Johnston LL, Johnston RI (6-0)

Johnston LL returns to the Regional's for their third straight year. The 2011 Eastern Regional Champions will look to defend their title with 6 returning players from last years team. They will play their first game against the NJ District 19 Champions at 1 PM on August 4.
