New! - Online Registration - Important information for the 2012 season

  • In 2012 we have moved to online registration only. This process supports returning & new players, as well as manager/coach candidates. There is no longer a need to fill out & mail registration or volunteer forms. A link to the online registration system can be found below but we encourage you to review the rest of the material which follows, including the instructions to make your registration experience as simple as possible. Note that you will acknowledge the code of conduct, etc. during the registration process & will receive a confirmation online once you have completed registration & payment. Credit Cards & Electronic Checks are securely accepted online. For those who prefer to pay by check, you will be able to register online and send your check separately. However, your registration cannot be confirmed until payment is received.

The online registration process is one part of our new league management software that we have recently implemented. This new solution will provide us with other important benefits for our members including text alerts for game changes/cancellations, the ability for managers to directly report scores, real-time updates to standings, etc. We appreciate your support during this time.

  • Registration is open to players born between 5/1/95 & 4/30/05 – NO exceptions. Children born after 4/30/05 may be eligible to register for the Township Recreation Department T-ball program.  Please contact them directly at 732-294-2190 for information on their program

  • Fee’s for both divisions remain the same as 2011. The Majors and below (ages 12 & under): $125, and the Senior Divisions (ages 13 & up): $140. Families registering 3 or more children will receive a $25 discount off of the total registration fees (e.g. 3 x $125 = $375 - $25 = $350). During registration you will have the option to donate to our annual scholarship fund. There are no added charges to you for using a Credit Card or Electronic Check.

  • We have once again eliminated the collection of fundraising fees at the start of the season and will look to provide several fundraising opportunities to support the FTLL (e.g. our BlueClaws night, golf outing, restaurant nights & clothing sales). We continue to make  improvements to our facility and count on your continued support to help cover the expenses benefiting our children. Team sponsorships, as well as two scoreboard sponsorships, are available. Donations will be accepted at any time. Please contact us for further information or to share ideas.

  • We appreciate your help in registering early so that we will have adequate time to properly prepare for the coming season. This will help us to provide your child with the best possible playing experience. Any registrations made after November 15 are subject to a $25 late fee per registrant – NO exceptions. No refunds will be given after team assignments are made. Refunds prior to this are subject to a $25 handling fee.

Required documents for new players

  • A birth certificate and copies of (3) documents* from the below categories showing Freehold Township residence are required & can be uploaded during online registration for all new Little League players. Due to more stringent Little League eligibility guidelines we cannot accept any registrations without the proper documentation. If you do not have the ability to scan & upload these documents you will need to either fax them to: 732-276-9870 or mail them to FTLL, PO Box 7306, Freehold NJ 07728. Please be sure to put the players name on the documents & complete this step following online registration. Please note that the Freehold Twp. Recreation T-Ball program is a separate program from Little League. If your child has played only in that program they are considered a new player to the FTLL & require the above noted documentation.

Acceptable categories of residency documents (no more than one document per category is acceptable):

1) Driver’s License

5) Federal records

9) Homeowner or tenant records

13) Medical records

2) Voter’s Registration

6) State records

10) Utility bills

14) Military records

3) School records

7) Local (municipal) records

11) Financial records

15) Internet, Cable or Satellite records

4) Welfare/child care records

8) Support payment records

12) Insurance documents

16) Vehicle records

  • IMPORTANT FOR NEW PLAYERS: at least one of the submitted residency documents MUST state Freehold Twp. as the municipality where you live. Residents of Freehold Boro & Howell with a Freehold mailing address are not permitted to register in the FTLL and must register for their respective Little League per Little League Baseball regulations.

Requirements for Managers and Coaches

  • If you're interested in managing a team, or being an assistant coach, you must meet the following requirements:

    1. You must register your request to Manage/Coach, similar to a player, online by November 23.

    2. You must submit to a background check* and then get an ID badge from the Freehold Twp. Recreation Dept. after your background check clears.  A background check is good for 3 years, so if you already have an ID badge, check the expiration date on it to determine if you need to submit to another background check for the upcoming season

      • All managers and coaches must wear their ID badge during all practices and games

    3. You must be certified through the Rutgers SAFETY course.  SAFETY certification is good for life

  • Details for the requirements specified above can be found at www.ftll.org/coaches

      * Freehold Township enacted a background check ordinance in 2006 which requires all volunteers 18 years or older to undergo a background check (inclusive of fingerprinting) every three years.  For details on the background check ordinance, go to
http://www.ecode360.com/?custId=FR2121 and type in "background check" in the search box and then click the "Search" button. Click on the link labeled 126-4 to get to the details on the ordinance.

Registration steps

Returning Registrants & Managers/Coaches

  1. Ensure that you have the initial User Name & Password that was set up for you & sent to you via e-mail. If you received more than one of these e-mails (you may have received one per family member) you should just choose one to log in with as you will be able to access all of your family members from this one User Name. It's important that you register all family members under one User Name in order to be linked as a family and to receive any group discounts for 3 or more players (if applicable). New players can be added along with existing family members. Please be aware of the birth certificate requirement for new players and include that in the registration. You will not need to provide Proof of Residence documents for a new family member unless your residence has changed since last registration.

If you assisted a team as a coach but were not registered as an official coach you may not have received an e-mail with an existing User Name. In that case, please register as a new coach.

  2. Have your credit card or check (this will become an electronic check) ready for payment. If you want to send in a check after online registration this is possible but your registration cannot be confirmed until we receive the check. Simply follow the instructions for payments.

  3. You're ready to register - click the button to access our Online Registration system. Detailed instructions are available below, if needed. We do not recommend that you register using an iPAD as there are known issues.

Note the names of the scanned files as you will need them for later reference. If you do not have the ability to scan & upload these documents you will need to either fax them to: 732-276-9870 or mail them to FTLL, PO Box 7306, Freehold NJ 07728.
