The Pioneers division will start off playing one game a week and transition to 2 games a week towards the end of May; for the first month the Pioneers will be coach pitch, and will transition to a combination of coach and player pitch in May. Coaches will also schedule practices at their discretion. The goal of this level is to help players develop the proper fundamentals at an early age so that they may gain more enjoyment as they play and progress in later years.

The softball division may include a few inter league games against other local towns, only as required based on the number of teams we have within FTLL.

Minors AA (Age 9),
Age 8 w/ 2 Pioneers Seasons also eligible

Minors AAA (Ages 10-11)

This age group will play regular games with players pitching and real baseball rules (balls and strikes called, stealing, etc). Minors division will continue to play on weeknights (5:30 PM) and Saturdays.

Any 9 year olds registering for the Minors AAA who are not drafted will automatically be placed in the Minors AA division. Note that 9 year olds will not be accepted in the Minors AAA division after teams are drafted.

If you believe your 11 year old is ready to play on the 50/70 field, then register him/her for the Intermediate division; if not, it is recommended that you register him/her for Minors AAA. Note that a limited number of 11 year olds are drafted by the Intermediates; if your child isn’t selected then he/she will be placed in Minors AAA.

11-13 Intermediate Baseball

Baseball:
9/1/2008-8/31/2011

Games are played on the 70' diamond. This is a great introduction for those players who are moving up from the smaller field but are not ready to move to the regulation (Seniors / 90’) field.

The Intermediate division will play its regularly scheduled games on WEEKNIGHTS ONLY (Monday – Thursday), at 7:30 PM.  Any rainouts for the Intermediate division will be made up on Saturdays early evening (5PM), and on open weeknights.

Inter-league games against other towns - some travel to other towns (within Monmouth County) for games may be required. There will be regular season games plus playoffs.

13-16
Seniors
Baseball

Baseball:
9/1/2005-8/31/2009

Games are played on the 90' diamond. This is a great introduction for those players who are moving up from the smaller field. Senior Majors games will continue to be played weeknights at 7:30 PM, and will continue to play on Saturdays but later in the day (4PM). Inter-league games against other towns - some travel to other towns (within Monmouth County) for games may be required. There will be regular season games plus playoffs.

13-16
Seniors
Softball

Softball:
1/1/2005-12/31/2008

This age group will play games against other Freehold Township teams and may include inter-league games against other towns within or near Monmouth County. Games will be played with Seniors division softball rules (balls and strikes called, stealing, etc.).

NOTE: While this level will be competitive, this is not a travel softball program, and focus is still primarily instructional.

* For baseball, parents should only register for “up play” at these levels if their child is “baseball ready” for the jump.  6 Year olds playing Pioneers will be playing against 8 year olds; 8 Year olds in Minors will potentially be facing pitching from 10-11 year olds.  Please use extreme discretion when making this decision.  The best baseball experience for all players is when they are aligned in the division appropriate for their skill level.

The spring baseball and softball season will run from April - June.

MANAGERS NEEDED! Please volunteer to manage or coach a team using our FTLL online registration system. If you are selected as a manager or coach you will be required to comply with FTLL coaching requirements as specified on the FTLL website (http://www.ftll.org).
