Unfortunately, the FTLL Board has concluded that it will not be possible to carry out our plans for the 2020 Spring Little League Season. Despite our hope to play this spring, the following challenges brought us to this conclusion:

• There is still no definitive date when organized sporting activities may resume.
• Constraints shared from other states that are beginning to resume indicate that they will be challenging to the league, our families, and volunteers. For example, limits on the number of fields that can be used, dugouts, equipment, spectators, etc. would place great burdens on all.
• Based on indications from similar organizations it’s likely that ~50% of the 566 players and the ~150 volunteer managers/coaches registered will not be comfortable playing or coaching this season – this would result in the need to redraft new teams while socially distanced which will be quite a challenge for a program of our size. This would also result in fewer players & teams which will negatively impact the experience.
• Eight other leagues in our district have already decided to cancel which would impact some divisions in our program that rely on interleague play. This would have been even more critical to our program following a reduction of our own players.

We did not make this decision lightly and realize that many, like us, are disappointed with the outcome. In addition to our plans for a Fall season, we are fully committed to offering opportunities to bring the kids back on the field should options for an abbreviated program be possible this summer. Registered FTLL Members were sent emails explaining their options in regard to the cancellation. The deadline for the selection of options was 6/15. Anyone who did not select an option will receive a full credit of their registration fee in their online account for a future season. Refunds & credits will be processed in the next 2 weeks.
