Double-A Baseball Matchup: Blue Rocks face the Lake Monsters

Offense was the name of the game in a riveting matchup between the Blue Rocks and the Lake Monsters.

Will P. started on the hill for the Lake Monsters, giving up one run in one inning of work, while retiring all batters via the strikeout.

The Blue Rocks had the bats going early, as they scored four runs in the 2nd inning to take an early lead, 5-0.

The Lake Monsters cut the early deficit in the 3rd, as KJ S. and Dean N. helped the Lake Monsters rack up four runs and slash the Blue Rocks’ lead to just one.

Ben Z. helped the Blue Rocks maintain the large lead, as his single and run scored was one of four in the inning. The Lake Monsters would not quit though, as they scratched across a run off of a Charlie M. walk and a single by CJ.

In the final inning, the Blue Rocks pounded the baseball, as Matthew B. and Michael S. led the way for the Blue Rocks in their nine-run fifth inning. The Blue Rocks would pitch a scoreless bottom of the fifth to capture the win, 18-5.
